Our Programs

Women Empowerment Forums
Upendo hosts regular forums where women can improve their financial and literacy skills. Most forums feature speakers, such as business women or well-regarded members of the Church, which can inspire and advise the women who attend these events.

Computer Classes
Two times per week, volunteers at our Upendo community center in Kawangware train women and youth in digital literacy. We teach vital skills like Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel. We also train our students in internet literacy, allowing them to develop skills which can translate to working in a company or running

Baking Classes
We offer baking classes at Joy's Pizza, a local Kawangware restaurant, near our business center. Attendees can learn from professional chefs and bakers how to make cakes, bread, and pizzas. These classes are not only fun, they also provide women with vocational skills that they can use at home and in the workforce!
Coding for Kids
We offer computer coding classes for the underprivileged children of Kawangware. The children are able to learn coding and general computer skills using both laptop and desktop computers. We have a range of different computer such as ThinkPads, MacBooks and Dells, to allow the children to become familiar with several different interfaces.
